We would like to talk about the importance of commu-nity and about how the Chamber is looking to be-come more involved in the community as a whole.
We have several members who are doing this by get-ting involved in Career days at local elementary, middle and high schools; by recognizing our public servants at an upcoming awards event and through initiatives like the digital video calendars with community updates. In fact, there are many differ-ent ways our Chamber and our member businesses work within the Perinton.
But, the question remains, “why should we do this?” Isn’t the Chamber really about helping the business community? The short an-swer to this question is yes, the Chamber is about help-ing the business communi-ty. While I firmly believe it is our responsibility to help the community, there are also many reasons beyond altruism to why it is important to work with the community as a whole.
