Members Named TOP WINNERS in 2021 Reader Rankings

Annually, the Rochester Business Journal (RBJ) and The Daily Record (TDR) host the Reader Rankings, which extends over six months. In March, the public is invited to nominate businesses online, in specific industrial categories. During the month of May, the public has the opportunity to select one of the businesses appearing in each industrial category. Votes are counted and communications are produced during June and July. In August, the top three WINNERS are announced for each category and finally the TOP WINNERS are revealed via online video. Each step of the process includes coverage in all of the respective publications in print and online, plus Socia Media. The RBJ and TDR have done a complete job in providing 'frequency' of visibility for these nominated and ultimately chosen businesses. 'Frequency' is the secret sauce of advertising - allowing for memory to aide in recall and being present when decisions are being made. Thank you to all of our voting members who offered their support to other members! Please join us in congratulating our members:

If you’re like most business owners, you have worked hard to build your business and at some point in your life would like to benefit from the fruits of your labor. While you may not be ready to transition your business anytime soon, there are many things to consider, well before you take the next step that will have an impact on your personal wealth.

This event will concentrate on topics related to this process:

  • Importance of the exit planning process
  • Fundamental value of the business and the factors that impact its potential exit value
  • Creating a preliminary exit plan
  • Creating a personal wealth plan that is correlated to your business exit plan
  • Legal considerations relative to exit planning (eventual transition)
  • Options every business owner should consider when deciding how to approach transfer of his or her business either during lifetime or at death

Take your first step toward succession planning by attending this event!

Monroe County Sheriffs Getting to Know Members for Safety

We have had recent opportunities to talk with the Monroe County Sheriffs as they participated in our Fourth of July run and parade and attended our first post-COVID shutdown outdoor Coffee. At the Coffee, the officers talked about the value of having businesses' contact information in case of emergencies. For example, if they are passing by a business after hours and find the door open, who do they call? They are actively gathering business contact information from multiple sources, one of which is the Chamber. Please take the time to review your Chamber directory information and ensure that the telephone number can be reached or is monitored 24/7. Go to:
