Annual Garage Sale to Benefit The Advent House
On July 27th, from 9am-2pm, Solstice Senior Living of Fairport will be hosting their annual Garage Sale to benefit Fairport's own Advent House. Advent House is an outreach ministry of Perinton Ecumenical Ministries, Inc., a corporation of thirteen churches in Perinton. They are a non-profit comfort care home that provides an alternative living arrangement to the terminally ill when they can no longer be cared for in their own homes. Loving care is not only provided to them, but to their families and friends as well. They also make available bereavement services to the families of Residents for at least thirteen months after loved ones have died.
Local Home Builders Partner to Build Houses with Flower City Habitat for Humanity
Reaching out to those in need of a home is what Habitat for Humanity is about and Pride Mark Homes is volunteering their time and expertise to this worthy cause. Pride Mark, Morrell Builders and The Inde Design Studio Homes will be volunteering at Habitat sites this month. Habitat for Humanity believes that no matter who you are, or where you come from, everyone deserves a decent place to live. They partner with people to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. The successes of Morrell Builder, Pride Mark Homes and The Inde Design Studio in providing homes for so many life styles will now be shared with Habitat communities.
Morrell Builders Owner Jeff Morrell said, “We are all thrilled to take a little time away from our daily work responsibilities to build with Flower City Habitat for Humanity. As builders, their program of partnering with families to create an affordable home-ownership opportunity is near and dear to our hearts- their moto says it all - through shelter, we empower ourselves, our neighbors, and our community. We can’t wait to get started!”

McConville Considine Comman & Morin PC Announce Welcoming Clients of Douglas W. Whitney
The full-service law firm of McConville Considine Cooman & Morin (MCCM), comprised of 13 attorneys, welcome clients of Douglas W. Whitney, as he begins his retirement in July, after practicing for 52 years. Both firms uphold the same values of serving the legal needs of clients within the greater Fairport/Perinton community with personal attention and respect of budgets. Because of this synergy, both firms have co-existed in the same Fairport Packetts Landing office space during the past decade. Their working relationship, while serving our local community, has also included the combination of expertise from both firms, during these years. MCCM is now celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, during this growth! Read more:
