IDA Adds Public Parking Spaces in Fairport

The Fairport Industrial Development Agency (IDA) is pleased to announce that construction work for an improved and enlarged public parking lot between Railroad and High Streets in the Village of Fairport has begun. Improvements to the parcel, which is owned by the Fairport IDA, will add 35 additional parking spaces for a total of 61 with an enhanced layout, new lighting and pedestrian walkways, and additional green space and landscaping. Macedon Excavating and Paving, Inc. was awarded the construction contract. BME Associates from Fairport serve as engineers for this project, working closely with the Village of Fairport and adjacent property owners. The improvements follow the recommendations of the 2012 Northwest Quadrant Master Plan and complement the 2016 Streetscape Plan Update. Construction is projected to be completed by August 25, 2017

Healing Hands Hosts Open House 8/25 & 8/26

Healing Hands for Helping Hearts is a non profit corporation that has just relocated to 29 Pleasant St in Fairport village. We offer therapeutic massage to primary caregivers of family members of a chronic illness to address pain, anxiety and insomnia to support the wellness of the caregiver. Check our website. We have partnered with other practitioners to also offer Reiki, essential oils, and special diet consultations. An open house is offered on August 25 and 26 from 10 AM - 6 PM to sample services and products.

Ryan Callan Celebrates Anniversary at FAST

Ryan Callan is a Senior Coach for Fairport Swimming in his 14th year, and additionally is the Boys Varsity Swimming Assistant for Fairport. Ryan has coached numerous national level swimmers and currently works with the highest level swimmers/national qualifiers in the FAST program, all using Triton Wear. He describes Triton Wear as creating a day to day dialogue with swimmers, utilizing 15 different metrics which enhances training for swimmers as well as coaches. Read more...

Fairport IDA Commissions Art for Wetland Trails

The Fairport Industrial Development Agency (IDA) is pleased to announce that it has commissioned two artists to enhance and connect the Erie Canalway and the Thomas Creek Wetland Trails on the canal's north bank in the Village of Fairport. With the assistance of the Fairport Public Art Committee, the Fairport IDA selected two proposals for the public art components. Users can now upload a cover video to their page instead of a cover photo. Facebook chose to add this option after recognizing many social media users prefer to consume content in video format.
